Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Man Van is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly, and with full respect for human rights. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our own operations and in our supply chains. We recognise that modern slavery is a serious global issue and we are dedicated to continually improving our practices to combat it.
Our Organisation and Supply Chain
Man Van provides transport, moving, and related services. Our operations rely on employees, contractors, and a network of suppliers that may provide vehicles, fuel, equipment, and support services. We understand that risks of modern slavery can arise at different points in these supply chains, particularly where work is low paid, outsourced, or relies on temporary labour. We are committed to identifying and managing these risks responsibly.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man Van has a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We do not accept any form of exploitation in our business or in the businesses of those who supply products or services to us. This principle underpins our policies, contracts, and day-to-day decisions.
All employees, managers, and contractors are expected to act in a way that is consistent with this zero-tolerance stance. Any breach of our commitment to preventing modern slavery is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment or business relationships where appropriate.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. Our supplier requirements include adherence to fair employment practices, lawful working conditions, and respect for human rights. Where appropriate, our contracts include clauses that require compliance with these standards.
Man Van conducts due diligence checks on higher-risk suppliers and may carry out audits to assess compliance with our expectations. These audits may include document reviews, discussions with management, and where proportionate, engagement with workers. If a supplier is found to be in breach of our standards, we will work with them to address the issue within a reasonable timeframe. If sufficient improvement is not made, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise any concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical behaviour. Concerns can be reported through established internal reporting channels, including line managers, senior management, or designated reporting contacts within the business.
All reports are treated seriously and, as far as reasonably possible, confidentially. We do not tolerate any form of retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Reports will be investigated promptly and thoroughly, and appropriate action will be taken if modern slavery or related abuses are identified.
Training and Awareness
Man Van seeks to ensure that relevant staff understand the risks of modern slavery and their responsibilities in helping to prevent it. This includes providing information on how to identify warning signs, how to respond to concerns, and how to use our reporting channels. We aim to promote a culture where respect for human rights is embedded in our everyday activities.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for oversight of our approach to preventing modern slavery rests with Man Van senior management. We monitor the effectiveness of our measures through review of supplier performance, analysis of reported concerns, and assessment of any incidents that arise. Lessons learned from these activities inform updates to our policies and procedures.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains appropriate, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. We will continue to develop our approach over time, with the goal of further reducing the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains.
This statement has been approved by the management of Man Van and reflects our ongoing commitment to combatting modern slavery and human trafficking in all forms.
